Offham Village Hall

So much that we never thought possible has happened since last Sunday when we said we were suspending bookings for the Cinema.

Whilst we are very aware that so many are suffering in so many ways that we could never contemplate, and our thoughts are with them all, we must stay positive as a person and a community to believe in a future.

So this is the promised update:

We closed the Village Hall on Friday to all hirers and events.

Our wonderful cleaner, Sue, will still come in over the next 3 months and everywhere will have an amazing Spring clean. Steve will also be there cleaning the outside areas.

We have brought forward our upgrading schedule, due to start in the Summer holidays, to begin next week. The wooden floor, having been temporary rectified last year when someone used bleach to clean spillages during a party, will be completely stripped back to remove the damage and then restored. At the same time, we are having real wooden skirting boards fitted, as the painted ones are constantly battered, and the walls repainted below the dado.

Although our finances will be greatly reduced, we have ‘Faith in the Future’ and the Village Hall will be ready to welcome you back.

We would not be in a position to do this if it were not for you supporting us by coming to our Social Events, others held by various organisations and groups in the village and all the classes held by our Regular Hirers.  Thank you.

Such times as these make us realise that we are so fortunate to live in a community as ours where everyone will receive any help they may need.

May you stay well and safe,

Valerie,    on behalf of EVERYONE connected with OFFHAM VILLAGE HALL.
