Parishes in Bloom – help needed 21st and 25th May

Message from Cllr Wendy Williams:

Parish in Bloom Competition

The judging for this years’ competition takes place on 10th July at 2 pm.

Keeping your own garden smart is part of this, but if you would like to get involved in helping out with the “open spaces” in the village it would be much appreciated.

  • The Aldon Lane gateway has already had weed killer applied and needs tiding
  • The paved edge of the Village Green needs cutting back and the new gates need tidying around along with the Jubilee Oak
  • The bus shelter would look  better for a good  clean. I will be putting up hanging baskets
  • The gateway at Spadework needs sorting out after the plants were damaged by the broadband box installation. I have several plants waiting to be put in there.

Thanks to Ken Frost who has already painted the Notice Boards, which look fantastic, and to Sue Williams who has made a great start in turning The Pound on The Village Green into a wild flower patch.

Please let me know if you are  able to help on Tuesday 21st May 10.30 or Saturday 25th May 10.30 meeting on the Green.
